EzyConn vs DocsBot AI: Where the Free Plans Stop Being Similar

Both of these give you something real for nothing, which is rarer in this category than it should be. The interesting question is what happens the day a colleague asks for a login.

The short answer

DocsBot AI is built to index a lot of documentation and answer questions about it. EzyConn is built to run customer conversations across channels and finish tasks inside them. The dividing line is unusually crisp: DocsBot charges per person and EzyConn charges per workspace, with 11 people on Professional at $95 a month.

Start with the free plans, because both are real

Most comparisons in this space involve one product with a free tier and one with a trial and a credit card form. Not this one. DocsBot Free gives you one bot, 50 source pages, 100 AI credits a month and one team user. EzyConn Free gives you 500 messages and 1,000 AI credits a month, for two people.

On volume the units differ, so a straight count would mislead. A DocsBot credit and an EzyConn credit are not the same unit, and depending on how your customers write, one credit does not equal one conversation. But neither free plan is a demo, and both will genuinely run a small site.

The 50 source page cap is the first real constraint on the DocsBot side, and for a product whose entire premise is documentation depth, it is clearly there to move you upward. That is a legitimate way to build a free tier. It just means the free plan is a taste of the thing DocsBot is actually good at.

Then look at what a second person costs

This is the line that decides most of these evaluations, and it is worth stating precisely because it is unusual.

DocsBot includes one team user on the Free plan and one team user on Personal at $49 a month. Five arrive on Standard at $149. Ten arrive on Business at $499. Additional team users are $19 each, and they are only sold on Business and above, so below that tier the only way to add a colleague is to change plan.

The EzyConn free plan covers two people, Starter at $25 a month covers four, and Professional at $95 a month covers eleven. A team of ten pays $95. On DocsBot the same ten people cost $499, though that plan is also buying 60,000 credits and 100,000 source pages, so it is not purely a seat charge. Still, if your team is five people answering a modest volume of questions, you are buying a great deal of indexing capacity in order to obtain logins.

What DocsBot AI is genuinely good at

Scale of content. Personal handles 5,000 source pages, Standard 15,000 and Business 100,000, with more available at $29 per 10,000. Selling page capacity separately from answer credits is a sensible design, because those two costs really are independent, and most competitors bundle them in a way that overcharges one group to subsidise the other.

Actions, scaled by tier: three per bot on Personal, eight on Standard, twelve on Business. Web search arrives on Standard, alongside the Help Scout integration and advanced analytics. Business adds conversation sentiment analysis and publishes SOC 2 Type II and GDPR compliance.

What EzyConn does that DocsBot does not attempt

DocsBot reaches customers through a website widget, Slack, Help Scout and Zapier. That is a documentation distribution list, and it fits the product.

EzyConn adds the channels customers actually use when they are annoyed: WhatsApp, Telegram, email and the phone, where the AI answers calls with the same knowledge and the same permitted actions as the chat. All of it lands in one shared inbox, and staff can reply from inside Slack, with chats also posted to Microsoft Teams, instead of opening another console.

The other difference is what an answer is allowed to become. EzyConn actions check availability across several staff, take a booking, move an existing one, release the slot that freed up and schedule a reminder. Permissions are explicit, so a refund can be allowed below a set amount and a cancellation refused outright. Configuration is covered on the workflow automation and decision tree pages.

Two situations that separate them

An engineer needs the exact rate limit for an endpoint, buried in a large API reference. That is the shape of problem DocsBot indexes for, its page limits are built for reference material of that size, and putting the assistant in Slack means the engineer never leaves the window they are already in.

A customer messages on WhatsApp to say they will be late and asks to push their slot back an hour. EzyConn, and DocsBot is not really in the running, because WhatsApp is not one of its channels and moving a booking is not one of its actions. The request would never arrive in the first place.

An honest assessment of both

Where EzyConn is stronger

  • Seats. Two people on the free plan and eleven on Professional at $95 a month, against one team user on DocsBot up to $149.
  • Channels. WhatsApp, Telegram, email and phone, none of which DocsBot covers.
  • A built in agent inbox rather than escalation into a separate product.
  • Answering from inside Slack.
  • Booking and rescheduling actions with explicit permission boundaries.

Who should choose which

A second person needs to log in

EzyConn

DocsBot includes one team user on Free and on Personal at $49, so a second person means Standard at $149. The EzyConn free plan covers two people.

Customers message on WhatsApp or call you

EzyConn

DocsBot deploys to a website widget, Slack and Help Scout. WhatsApp, SMS and voice are not part of the product.

The AI needs to book, move or cancel something

EzyConn

Availability checks and appointment changes with an explicit permission boundary are core to EzyConn. DocsBot actions are aimed at lookups and API calls, not scheduling.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between EzyConn and DocsBot AI?

DocsBot AI is a documentation and knowledge product. It indexes large content sets and answers questions about them on a website widget, in Slack or through Help Scout. EzyConn is a customer conversation platform, covering WhatsApp, Telegram, email, phone and team chat alongside the website, with a shared inbox for humans and actions that can complete a booking.

Do both have a free plan?

Yes, and this is one of the few comparisons in the category where both sides do. DocsBot Free gives 1 bot, 50 source pages, 100 AI credits a month and 1 team user. EzyConn Free gives 500 messages and 1,000 AI credits a month, for 2 people. The AI allowance, the people count and the source page cap are where they part company.

Which is cheaper for a small team?

EzyConn, and the gap is wide. DocsBot includes a single team user on both Free and Personal at $49 per month, so the second person requires Standard at $149. Extra team users cost $19 each and are only sold on Business and above. The EzyConn free plan covers 2 people, Starter at $25 a month covers 4, and Professional at $95 a month covers 11.

Is EzyConn a DocsBot AI alternative?

For customer facing support across multiple channels, yes.

Does DocsBot AI support human handoff?

Through integrations rather than its own agent workspace. Its Help Scout integration arrives on Standard and Slack on Personal, so escalations land in a tool you run separately. EzyConn provides the inbox itself and can also push conversations into Slack or Microsoft Teams.

Which has better analytics?

They emphasise different things. DocsBot offers basic analytics on Personal, advanced on Standard and conversation sentiment analysis on Business. EzyConn includes conversation analytics on every plan and adds AI Insights on Professional.

Which is better for appointment booking?

EzyConn. It checks availability across staff, books, moves an existing booking, releases the freed slot and sends a reminder. DocsBot actions are built for lookups and API calls rather than managing a diary.

The verdict

DocsBot AI is named accurately, which is more than can be said for much of this category. It is a documentation product, it is good at being one, and its pricing is arranged around the two things that actually cost it money, namely how much you index and how much you ask.

EzyConn is for a different daily reality. Several people share the answering, customers arrive by WhatsApp and phone as often as through the website, and a good outcome usually means something changed in a calendar rather than a question being explained accurately. In that setting the eleven people on Professional matter more than the page limit, and the channel coverage matters more than index depth.
