Tidio Pricing Explained: What It Actually Costs
The number on the pricing page is not the number on your invoice. Tidio runs three separate meters, and only one of them is fixed. Here is what each one is, why the other two are hard to budget for, and how to work out your own monthly figure before you commit.
The short answer
Your Tidio bill is plan + AI + branding. The plan is a fixed tier price. Lyro AI is metered separately and starts at around $32.50 a month for 50 AI conversations. Removing the Tidio watermark from your own widget is a further add-on of roughly $16.67 a month on lower tiers. Ask for a quote and you will usually be told the first number only.
Meter one: the plan
This is the ordinary part and the part everyone understands. You pick a tier, you pay monthly or annually, the price does not move. We are deliberately not printing the tier prices here, because vendor pricing pages change more often than blog posts do and a stale number helps nobody. Read them on the source and write the figure down. Then keep reading, because that figure is roughly half the story.
Meter two: Lyro AI, billed separately
Lyro is Tidio's AI. It is not folded into the plan price. It is charged apart from it, starting at around $32.50 a month for 50 AI conversations.
An "AI conversation" means one exchange the bot handles rather than one message, so a visitor asking four follow-up questions is normally still one conversation. That is a fair way to count. The issue is not the counting method, it is that the count decides the price.
Fifty conversations a month is small. It is a couple of enquiries a day. Any business with real website traffic will pass that, and once you do you are on a bigger AI package. We are not going to guess what the larger packages cost, because Tidio does not publish a single per-conversation rate and inventing one would be worse than useless. The structural point does not depend on the exact figures: the AI is its own subscription, and it grows with your volume.
Meter three: paying to remove someone else's name
By default the widget on your website carries Tidio branding. Removing it costs roughly $16.67 a month on the lower tiers. That is not a large sum, and it is not unusual in this industry, but it is worth naming for what it is: a small recurring fee for the right to have your own storefront look like your own storefront. It matters most to consumer brands, where a stranger's logo on the chat bubble reads as slightly unfinished.
| Meter | How it is charged | Moves with your success? |
|---|---|---|
| 1. The plan | A fixed monthly or annual tier price | No, this one is predictable |
| 2. Lyro AI conversations | Billed separately, from around $32.50/mo for 50 conversations | Yes, it rises with volume |
| 3. Branding removal | Add-on of roughly $16.67/mo on lower tiers | No, but it is easy to forget |

The free plan is an AI trial in disguise
Tidio's free tier includes 50 Lyro conversations, but they are a one-off allowance rather than a monthly reset. Spend them and free AI is finished, permanently. This catches people out, because almost every other free tier in software refills on the first of the month. If you are evaluating on the free plan, you are evaluating against a budget that never comes back, which is not enough runway to learn whether the AI actually answers your customers well.
Why three meters is hard to budget
A fixed cost is easy: you write it in the spreadsheet and forget it. A metered cost requires you to forecast the thing being metered. For AI conversations that means forecasting your own traffic, and small businesses are generally terrible at that, because traffic arrives in lumps.
Think about what actually moves the number: a marketing email that lands well, a seasonal peak, a supplier delay that triggers a wave of "where is my order" questions, or a product going briefly viral. Every one of those raises AI conversations, so the invoice goes up in the months you are busiest. Sometimes that is fine, because revenue went up too. Sometimes, as with the supplier delay, costs went up while revenue did not.
There is a second, quieter effect. Once a meter is running, people start managing it. Teams narrow what the bot is allowed to answer, or turn it off on high-traffic pages, to keep the bill down. That is the opposite of what you bought it for. A tool you deliberately use less is a tool you are paying too much for.
How to work out your own number in ten minutes
- Look up how many chats you handled last month, then take your busiest month in the last year rather than your average. Budget for the peak, not the middle.
- Assume the AI handles most of them. That is the goal, and it is also the worst case for the bill.
- Find the AI package that covers that number and add its monthly price to the plan price.
- Add the branding removal add-on if you want your widget unbranded, which most businesses do.
- Now do the same sum with 3x the volume. If that answer frightens you, the pricing model is not right for you, regardless of how good the product is.
What flat pricing looks like instead
For contrast, here is how EzyConn charges. One price covers the plan and the AI, and Professional removes the EzyConn badge with no add-on. AI runs on GPT-4o and Claude on every tier including the free one. Nobody is charged per seat and nothing is charged per resolution.
| Plan | Price | Included per month | Notable |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 forever | 500 messages | 1 agent seat plus the owner |
| Starter | $25/mo | 5,000 messages | 3 agent seats plus the owner |
| Professional | $95/mo | 25,000 messages | Up to 10 agent seats, EzyConn badge removable |
| Enterprise | Talk to us | Sized to your volume | Invoicing and a data processing agreement |
There is no second invoice. You choose the cap before you pay, annual billing takes 20% off, and no usage pattern turns $25 into $200. Full detail on the pricing page, and the feature-by-feature version sits on our Tidio alternative page.
When Tidio's pricing is genuinely fine
If your volume is low and steady, three meters cost you almost nothing extra and you get an easy, well-built product for it. Metered pricing only hurts at scale or at volatility. A shop with twenty enquiries a month that does not care about the watermark is not being badly served, and switching would be effort spent for no gain. Whether that is you is the subject of is Tidio worth it.
Common questions
How much does Tidio cost per month?
There is no single number, because Tidio bills on three separate meters. You pay for the plan tier, then separately for Lyro AI conversations starting at around $32.50 a month for 50, and then roughly $16.67 a month more on lower tiers if you want the Tidio branding removed from your widget. Your real monthly cost is the sum of all three, and only the first one is fixed.
Is Lyro AI included in the Tidio plan price?
No. Lyro is billed apart from the plan, starting at around $32.50 a month for 50 AI conversations. That is the single most important thing to understand about Tidio pricing, because it means the plan price you see quoted is not the price of a working AI chatbot.
Does Tidio put its branding on your chat widget?
Yes by default, and removing it is a paid add-on of roughly $16.67 a month on the lower tiers. So an unbranded widget, which most businesses assume is standard, is an upgrade you buy on top of everything else.
Is the Tidio free plan really free?
The chat itself is free, but the free tier includes 50 Lyro conversations as a one-off allowance rather than a monthly reset. Once those 50 are used, free AI stops permanently and any further AI is billed. It is closer to an extended AI trial than a free AI plan.
Why is metered AI pricing hard to budget for?
Because the meter runs on your success. A marketing campaign, a seasonal peak, or a product launch all raise the number of AI conversations, so the invoice rises in exactly the months when you are busiest. You cannot forecast a metered line item without first forecasting your traffic, which most small teams cannot do accurately.
One price, no second invoice
Start on $0 forever: 2 seats, 1 chatbot, 500 messages every month, and no credit card to sign up. Upgrade only when the cap, not the bill, tells you to.
