AI Chatbot for Resorts: Packages, Long Stays and On-Site Revenue

A resort guest stays a week, not a night. That changes what they ask, when they ask it, and how much of your revenue is decided after they have already checked in.

The 30-second answer

Resorts sell packages, and packages generate questions. What is included, what costs extra, when the kids club opens, whether the beach restaurant needs booking. An AI chatbot answers all of that from your own rate-plan pages, in many languages, at whatever hour the guest is awake. Then it keeps working through the stay, taking spa and dining requests while the guest is still deciding.

A resort is not a city hotel with a pool

The general hotel playbook still applies, and we cover it in detail in our guide to AI chatbots for hotels: direct bookings, pre-stay questions, escalation rules, launch steps. Read that first if you have not automated anything yet. This piece is about what changes when the stay is a week instead of a night.

Three things change. First, the guest is buying a package, not a room, so the questions are about inclusions rather than amenities. Second, the property is the destination, so guests ask about opening hours, activity schedules and transport. Third, most of the spend that decides your profit has not happened yet at check-in. Spa, dining, excursions and upgrades are all still open.

That third point is worth sitting with. A city hotel chatbot mostly protects a booking. A resort chatbot protects the booking and then shapes the next five days of decisions.

The questions a resort actually gets

Sit with a reservations team for an hour and the same themes repeat. Here is the shape of it, and what a trained bot does with each one.

Topic
What the guest asks
What the bot does
Package inclusions
Are drinks included on the half-board plan?
Answers from your rate-plan pages, then sends edge cases to reservations
Getting there
How far is the airport, and do you run a transfer?
Gives distance, transfer times and how to book one before arrival
On-site facilities
What time does the kids club open in low season?
Holds opening hours by season so nobody quotes summer times in March
Dining
Do we need a reservation at the beach restaurant?
Explains which venues need booking and takes the request
Spa and treatments
Can I book a couples massage for Thursday?
Captures treatment, day and party size, then routes it to the spa team
Activities and weather
What is there to do if it rains?
Reads out the activity schedule and the indoor options

Notice how many of these have seasonal answers. Opening hours, activity schedules and transfer times all shift between high and low season. Put the season into the content you train the bot on. A confidently wrong opening time is worse than no answer.

Packages are the biggest deflection win

Room-only, bed and breakfast, half board, full board, all-inclusive, and then the premium version of all-inclusive with the branded spirits. Every resort has its own ladder, and no guest reads the whole thing before booking. So they message, and they message again after booking, and again a week before arrival.

These questions suit automation because your answer is already written. It sits on your rate-plan pages. EzyConn trains by crawling your site, so the bot repeats your inclusions in your wording rather than inventing a friendly summary.

One rule to set early: the bot explains inclusions, it does not adjudicate a specific booking. Telling a guest that drinks are included when their rate says otherwise creates a bar bill argument on day one. Where the honest answer is "it depends on the rate you booked", the bot should say exactly that and pass the guest to reservations.

Long stays mean more decision points

A one-night guest makes one decision: sleep. A guest staying seven nights makes a decision every morning. Each morning is a chance to fill a spa slot or a restaurant cover that would otherwise go empty. The problem was never demand. It was that asking required a human at a desk, and the guest is at the pool.

The day after arrival

Spa and treatments

Guests unpack, swim, then start planning the week. A message on day two offering the spa schedule lands at the moment they are deciding.

Mid-stay dining

Restaurant covers

A guest who has eaten at the buffet twice is open to the à la carte venue. The bot shares the menu, takes the reservation and notes dietary needs.

Rainy afternoons

Indoor spend

Weather changes plans on long stays. A bot that answers the rain question with the cooking class and the treatment menu turns a flat afternoon into revenue.

The last two days

Late checkout and transfers

Departure planning starts before the guest asks. Offer late checkout, a transfer booking and a lunch reservation while the room still has value.

The bot does not need to take payment to be useful. Capturing treatment type, day, time and party size, then handing it to the spa team, removes the phone call that stopped the guest from asking. Our guide to chatbots for spas and salons goes deeper on the booking flow.

International guests and the language question

Resorts draw guests from everywhere, and those guests research at their own hour of the night. The AI in EzyConn answers in many languages on every plan, including the free one. You maintain one knowledge base in English and the bot handles the rest. Our guide to multilingual AI chatbots covers the trade-offs.

One point is worth knowing when you compare plans. The AI answering a guest in their own language is on every plan, so the first reply lands in the guest's language from day one, whichever tier you start on.

Running more than one property

Each property needs its own chatbot, trained on its own content, so the bot never answers a Maldives question with Mexican opening hours. Starter at $25 a month runs three chatbots and Professional at $95 runs ten. The free plan runs one, which is enough to test with a single property.

Channels matter just as much. Microsoft Teams and Slack routing is how spa and dining requests reach the right team, and WhatsApp and SMS are where most resorts land, because in-stay guests message rather than browse. The pricing page lists the allowances, from 500 messages a month on the free plan to 25,000 on Professional, with 20% off annually.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is a resort chatbot different from a hotel chatbot?

A city hotel answers a short list of questions before a one or two night stay. A resort answers questions for a week. Guests ask what the package includes, how they get there from the airport, when the kids club opens, and what happens if it rains on day four. The bot has to hold the whole property, not just front desk policies.

Can the chatbot explain what our packages include?

This is the single best use of it. Inclusions vary by plan, by season and by room type, so the same question arrives again and again. Train the bot on your rate-plan pages and it answers in your wording at any hour. When the answer depends on the specific booking, it should say so and pass the guest to reservations.

Does it answer guests who do not speak English?

Yes. The AI replies in many languages on every EzyConn plan, including the free one, from the knowledge base you wrote in English.

We run three properties. Do we need three chatbots?

You set up one chatbot per property, and the plan sets how many you run: the free plan runs one, Starter at $25 a month runs three and Professional at $95 runs ten, so a three-property group fits on Starter. Each chatbot is trained on its own property, so one resort never answers with another resort's opening hours.

Can guests reach the chatbot on WhatsApp during their stay?

Yes. WhatsApp and SMS connect as channels, and they are where most resorts start. In-stay guests message far more than they browse a website, so a WhatsApp number on the welcome card gets used. Internal routing to Microsoft Teams or Slack takes each request to the team that owns it.

Answer every guest, in every timezone

EzyConn learns your resort from your own pages, explains your packages in many languages, and passes spa and dining requests to the team that owns them.
